How to create Pivot tables
Pivot tables are extremely useful for those people who are less confident. Pivot table is used for reading underlying data. It doesn’t modify the actual data. You can choose data in columns and can summaries and can change orientation. You can choose columns and can pivot table on that rows and columns and can have data summaries under these table body. This will help you in finding out answers quickly. Let us see the operation required for creating pivot table in Excel 2007 and 2003
Excel 2007:-
You should select the range of table first.
Go to insert menu and give command insert table. Otherwise, you can use ctrl+T hot key.
Go to menu design,select tools and summaries with table.
Select the position of the pivot table. You can either use current worksheet or a new sheet.
Excel 2003:-
Select the table range.
Go to data menu and select pivot table. Select the pivot chart report.
A wizard will pop up. Choose the next step.
Select the next step or change the data range in step 3.
Finally, select the destination of pivot table.
Pivot tables find wide application in areas where work books get corrupted. Let us consider a situation where you get a message showing that the sheet is corrupted. If you have sensitive data,it will get damaged.
These errors are generally due to certain reasons. You will get and error message if the pivot table uses KPI. Use of ore than one KPI will create command in Time member property. Problem can be solved by removing from CTM. In case, if the error doesn’t disappear, the file would be corrupted.
